Kevin Durant’s Blunt Message About Draymond Green

Kevin Durant’s Blunt Message About Draymond Green

Kevin Durant knows Draymond Green very well. The pair has won championships together, clashed in certain capacities, and then found a way to become good friends again.

This past week, Green was suspended indefinitely by the NBA following an unfortunate physical confrontation with Phoenix Suns big man Jusuf Nurkic.

In the aftermath, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr strongly criticized Green.

Durant, meanwhile, took a more measured stance.

“That was insane to see,” Durant said of the incident.

“Glad Nurk is all right. Never seen that before in a basketball court in an NBA game. I hope Draymond gets the help he needs. It’s been incident after incident.

“I know Draymond and that’s not, he hasn’t been that way when I was around him and coming into the league. Hopefully, he gets the help he needs to get back on the court and put all this stuff behind him.”

Durant’s comments sound eerily similar to Nurkic’s take on the situation.

“What’s going on with him? I don’t know,” he said in a session with the media.

“Personally, I feel like that brother needs help. I’m glad he didn’t try to choke me. At the same time, it ain’t nothing to do with basketball.”

It is telling that everyone seems to be talking about Green like someone who has deep mental health issues.

He is certainly acting like someone who needs help.

Will Green ultimately be able to fix whatever it is inside of him that is causing these sorts of inexplicable physical outbursts? Tiem will tell.
