Chris Paul’s Blunt Message On Fit With Stephen Curry, Warriors
Chris Paul getting traded from the Phoenix Suns to the Washington Wizards, and then from the Wizards to the Golden State Warriors, was one of the more surprising series of transactions from this NBA offseason.
While Paul is undeniably a Hall of Famer, he is also 38 years old. Beyond that, he has had trouble staying healthy and plays the exact same position as Stephen Curry.
Plus, his refusal to come off the bench for Golden State has not done much to quell questions about how well he will truly fit on the roster. Even Curry has had to address Paul’s steadfast refusal to accept a Sixth Man role.
This week, Paul appeared on a podcast and attempted to bluntly address how he will fit alongside Curry and the Warriors.

“I’m being serious, this seems so simple,” Paul said. “I got 19 years of experience. The game hadn’t changed unless they started shooting with something different.
“I feel like what I’ve been fortunate is this isn’t my first time changing teams. It’s not the first time I’ve heard outside noise, so every time I change teams, everyone says ‘it’s not gonna work.’”
Time will tell if Paul is right to be so confident in how this will all sort itself out.
At the moment, his fit with Golden State appears to be pretty clunky.
Obviously the Warriors had to get rid of Jordan Poole. They had just paid him more than $100 million the prior summer and he was emerging as something of a locker room cancer. Everyone hated him – both players and coaches.

But it remains to be seen if the team actually got an upgrade in his replacement.
Will Paul be able to make this stint with the Warriors work? Time will tell.
