Anthony Davis Names Lakers’ ‘Biggest Downfall’ This Season
Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers got blown out by 20 points in a game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday.
It was L.A.’s second consecutive loss and moved them to 17-17 on the season.
Davis had 20 points and 10 rebounds against New Orleans, but obviously it wasn’t enough to secure the dub.
After the game, Davis spoke to the media and revealed what he perceived to be the Lakers’ ‘biggest downfall’ so far this season.

“They were killing us on the glass,” he said.
“And then Rui [Hachimura] goes out. I just said that’s going to be our biggest downfall this year. Not being able to stay healthy, especially coming off a back-to-back. You’re already missing Cam [Reddish], DLo.
“Obviously, Gabe [Vincent] is out for an extended period of time, but then Rui goes down. Now, our rotation is smaller. You lose another body as far as scoring, but yeah, I mean, defensively, we gave up a lot of threes,” Davis continued.
“They had 10 in the first half. Obviously, there are some guys that we wanted to shoot, and they made them. There’s nothing you can do about it.
“I think our effort to start and our attentiveness was very low. Just from the point of C.J. [McCollum], a lot of his threes were buttnaked. That’s tough to deal with.”
The Lakers need to make some changes. Currently, the team is being linked to a three-team trade that could turn its entire season around. In addition to that, the front office reportedly has its sights set on three particular players.

Whether or not Rob Pelinka and Co. will be able to get them is a whole different story.
Davis’ assessment of what the Lakers’ problem right now is can definitely be described as “accurate.” Time will tell if it will actually be solved at some point in 2024, though.
