Anthony Davis Explains Why Lakers Are Now Better Than Clippers
The Los Angeles Lakers won an NBA championship in 2020 in truly impressive fashion. That being said, one goal has consistently remained elusive for them throughout much of LeBron James’ stint in L.A. – beating the Los Angeles Clippers.
In the last match-up between the Clippers and Lakers the latter squad finally picked up a win.
This past Sunday night, the two teams faced off again – with the Lakers once again earning a hard-fought 106-103 victory.
After the outing, Anthony Davis spoke to the media and explained why the Lakers were finally better than the Clippers in their head-to-head match-ups after so many years of disappointing efforts.

“I just came out with a sense of urgency,” Davis said.
“We play hard. We play like we needed to win, like it was a must-win. Competed on both sides of the basketball. Just got a build off of it. We know what we have in this locker room. We know what it takes to win.”
Davis didn’t stop there, though.
“Yeah, I mean it’s tough to get wins in this league,” he continued.
“Obviously, we’re going to four game lose the streak. So, to get back in the win column, it’s huge for us. Like I said, we just gotta build off of it.”
That being said, Davis knows that beating the Clippers alone isn’t enough. The Lakers must keep getting better and learning to grow.
“Um you know, look at the film uh tomorrow and see what we did to win this basketball game um and what we can do to uh to get better uh going into um our next game against Toronto,” Davis continued.
“So, um learn from it, build on it, and uh continue to you know, ride this wave of winning and try to make up some ground.”
The Lakers are currently 18-19 and a long ways away from being the championship contender many envisioned them to be.

Maybe they will be able to pull off a blockbuster trade ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline and that will turn their season around.
But if they can’t get something worked out in that regard, they’ll have to win games the old fashioned way.
The Lakers proved they have the skill and mettle to compete with the league’s best on Sunday. Can they do what they did against the Clippers against some of the NBA’s other top teams? Time will tell .
