Anthony Davis’ Blunt Reaction To Embarrassing Lakers Loss
The Oklahoma City Thunder came back from 26 points down on Wednesday night to defeat the Los Angeles Lakers 123-115.
It was an embarrassing defeat for LA, halting all of the momentum that had been accumulated over the team’s prior two games.
Anthony Davis, who has been dealing with an injury, finished the night with 30 points.
After the heartbreaking loss, Davis delivered a fairly blunt response to what had transpired.
“It’s a game that we’re definitely supposed to win,” he said. “We’re not supposed to lose at all. But we’ll learn from it and move forward.”
Not everyone had such a measured response to the defeat, though. Lakers broadcaster and analyst James Worthy went off on the team after the game.

“You have to finish the job, regardless of who you’re playing,” Worthy said. “You cannot disrespect the worst team in the league. In fact, you make sure you put them away and let them know that they don’t have a chance. I think the Lakers came out with that mentality but I dont know what happened, they kind of just disrespected these young guys… I have seen a lot of Lakers losses. this might be the worst Lakers loss I’ve seen…
“I know it’s early in the season, but this wasn’t one of those games. They should have won the game, and the disrespect that they showed for Oklahoma by not being professional and finishing the job, it’s not Lakers style.”

The season is still young and there’s plenty of time to right the ship, but things are not trending in the right direction for LA. After Davis’ incredible body transformation over the summer everyone assumed the entire team would be serious about winning a title this year. So far, that has not proven to be the case.
So far the Lakers have recorded more fights with fans this year (two via Russell Westbrook, one courtesy of Rajon Rondo) than actual victories. That’s not great. Hopefully things improve, and quickly, because if they don’t – this group might just go down as the most disappointing super team of all time.
