Anthony Davis’ Blunt Message To D’Angelo Russell About Game 2
Anthony Davis’ Blunt Message To D’Angelo Russell About Game 2
The Los Angeles Lakers were defeated by the Denver Nuggets 114-103 on Saturday.
As a result, the defending champions now hold a 1-0 series advantage in their best-of-seven matchup.
LeBron James finished the outing with 27 points 8 assists and 6 rebounds. Anthony Davis put up 32 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks.
Unfortunately, the rest of the Lakers’ supporting cast didn’t do much – including D’Angelo Russell.
One of the keys to the Lakers’ second half resurgence this past season was Russell’s improved play. Against Denver, though – he reverted to being the guy who got owned by them in last year’s playoffs.
Russell finished Game 1 with 13 points on 20 shots. Not ideal, obviously.
After the game, Davis offered his teammate some blunt advice.

“Just get ready for Game 2,” Davis said.
“We can’t do anything about [Game 1]. But you can do something about Game 2. We know what DLo brings to our team. … Just gotta do it.
Will the Lakers be able to even the series up against the Nuggets on Monday night? Time will tell, but the only way they stand a chance is if Russell steps up in a big way.
