Lakers Issue Surprising New LeBron James Injury Update
The Lakers issued a surprising new LeBron James injury update.
James, 34, re-injured his groin in this past week’s Christmas Day game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
To add insult to injury, the Lakers lost the game in somewhat heartbreaking fashion and now sit at 0-2 in the season series.
James stayed in the game despite his injury, but he was noticeably hindered. For most of the outing the Lakers star was resigned to launching up threes instead of driving to the bucket.
As a result, there were serious questions regarding his ability to play this coming weekend.
Good news for the Lakers: LeBron James (groin) is expected to travel with team to Portland and on track to play Saturday, per league sources. More on Inside Pass at @TheAthleticNBA: https://t.co/b31ujfqg8P

According to The Athletic’s NBA insider Shams Charania, the concern was all for naught.
James reportedly plans to travel with the Lakers to play the Portland Trail Blazers this weekend. Barring a setback, he will suit up.
The Lakers currently find themselves in the midst of a four-game losing streak. They will look to snap that and get back on track this Saturday.
