Lakers’ Anthony Davis Gets Unfortunate Injury Update From Doctor

Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis got an unfortunate injury update following his team’s big win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night.

Following a collision with Giannis Antekounmpo in the second half of L.A.’s big, LeBron James-less victory, Davis seemed unable to use his shoulder normally.

After the game, head coach Darvin Ham didn’t do much to evoke confidence about Davis’ health.

“I think he got bumped … He’s being looked at,” said Ham. “So we’ll see. We’ll have an update tomorrow at some point.”

Shortly thereafter, Dr. Evan Jeffries, DPT highlighted why Davis’ injury looked particularly troubling.

“Didn’t use his left arm after this play,” he said. “Possible AC joint contusion … Possible nerve injury (stinger).”

As a doctor of physical therapy and the owner of Evolving Motion PT, Jeffries’ initial analysis certainly carries a decent amount of weight.

Davis’ comments after the Lakers game also didn’t lead to much in the way of confidence regarding his shoulder.

The Lakers earned a big win over Milwaukee, obviously, but it doesn’t matter much if Davis’ injury hinders him long-term.

Over the next 24 hours, one way or the other, an answer regarding Davis’ condition will present itself.

Will Davis be able to bounce back from this and lead the Lakers on a late-season push akin to the one they made last year? Time will tell.
