The Minnesota Timberwolves have quietly put together a very impressive start to the 2023 NBA season.
After being one of the league’s most disappointing teams last year, this squad finally seems to be finding its rhythm.
Currently the Timberwolves are 13-4 on the year and sit atop the Western Conference.
It isn’t just the players who are taking care of business this season, though. The team’s mascots are doing quite well for themselves, too.
On Tuesday night, the Timberwolves’ mascots went viral over their pregame routine:

In a week of hoops that saw Josh Giddey get in trouble for allegedly messing with a minor, his teammates take sides, and then the girl’s parents make a surprising move, NBA fans desperately needed a feel-good distraction.
This proved to be that. Folks flocked to social media to offer their takes on the Timberwolves’ mascots:

Big picture, Minnesota finally has a squad worth rooting for. The decision to make Anthony Edwards the team’s centerpiece instead of Karl-Anthony Town is paying major dividends.
Edwards is a generational talent in the making.

His ceiling is off the charts.
Will the Timberwolves’ mascots bring this bit back out when the team inevitably finds itself in the NBA Finals this season? Time will tell.
