Dennis Schroder made headlines last summer when he fumbled an opportunity to secure a massive payday from the Los Angeles Lakers.
Rather than sign a life-changing $84 million contract with L.A. midseason, Schroder demanded more money. And he allegedly did it in particularly dramatic fashion.
For a variety of factors, his value plummeted after that. In the end, he was forced to sign with the Boston Celtics for the $5.9 million taxpayer midlevel exception.
After inking that deal, Schroder apparently decided to really commit to his new squad.
This weekend, in light of the Celtics making the NBA Finals, Schroder decided to show off this tattoo:

The issue here, of course, is that Schroder got traded to the Houston Rockets after just 49 games. Not only that, but him getting dealt signaled one of the main turning points of the Celtics’ season making a massive turnaround.
Reactions to Schroder’s revelation largely speak for themselves:

Schroder is a fascinating personality, that much is clear at this point.
Between his admitted inability to play with LeBron James and a lot of his teammates absolutely despising him (including one of LA’s two biggest stars), it’s safe to say that he marches to the beat of his own drum.

That Celtics tattoo is just the latest example.
What will Schroder ultimately go viral for next? Time will tell.
