Bucks Officially Put 3 Key Players On NBA Trade Block
The Milwaukee Bucks find themselves at the center of trade discussions as the February 6 deadline approaches.
Reports suggest the team is exploring options to move key players from their 2021 championship roster.
Khris Middleton, Pat Connaughton, and Bobby Portis are reportedly available for potential trades.
“The Bucks have been active this trade season, sources said, with Khris Middleton, Bobby Portis and Pat Connaughton all expected to be available in potential moves to bring back an impact player,” Bontemps and Windhorst wrote.

“Like Phoenix did, the Bucks have only their 2031 first-round pick to trade, but they also need to shed around $6.5 million in a deal to get below the second apron to be able to combine players in a trade.”
These players were instrumental in securing the Bucks’ NBA title, but the team seems to be considering a roster shakeup.
Middleton’s situation is particularly noteworthy. The forward has struggled to regain his form following offseason ankle surgeries, raising questions about his long-term role with the team.
Connaughton’s availability is less surprising, given his reduced role in the current rotation. Both he and Portis have the option to enter free agency after this season, which may factor into the Bucks’ decision-making process.
“As the Bucks have shown going back to when they made the Damian Lillard trade last year, they are determined to maximize every bit of Giannis Antetokounmpo’s title window,” Bontemps and Windhorst added.
The Bucks’ core is aging, with Giannis Antetokounmpo at 30, Brook Lopez at 36, and Damian Lillard at 34. This reality likely plays a role in the team’s apparent strategy to inject younger talent into the roster.
Milwaukee currently holds a 25-17 record, placing them in contention for a top-four seed in the Eastern Conference. The team’s management appears to be weighing options to bolster their lineup for a strong playoff push.
As trade discussions heat up, fans and analysts will be watching closely to see how the Bucks navigate this pivotal moment in their season. Any moves made could significantly impact the team’s chemistry and championship aspirations.
