In early December LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers faced off against the Ime Udoka-coached Houston Rockets.
During the game, James and Udoka got into it verbally – leading to the latter’s ejection from the outing.
In the aftermath, both men made it clear that there was some bad blood there.
This week James seems to have scored the ultimate checkmate on his rival.
Last year, Udoka made headlines after being involved in a particularly messy scandal. He reportedly cheated on his longtime girlfriend, Nia Long, with a Boston Celtics staffer. This led to his ouster from the organization – despite guiding them to an NBA Finals appearance.
Udoka and Long ultimately went their separate ways as a result of the scandal.
Earlier this same month, rapper Cam’ron revealed that he had slid into Long’s DMs following her split from Udoka.
“Hey …” the message read.
“I Was giving you some time to yourself till I reached out. Your perseverance as a strong black woman through this turbulent time has been something to behold. You shouldn’t be taken advantage of and exploited as you did nothing to deserve this. Especially all over these sports networks. You’re bigger and better then that. You’re a queen, and by the way l’m a king.”
Cam’ron didn’t stop there, though.
“Together we can achieve the greatness we were both destine for as a couple,” the message continued.
“(Une Vie a Vivre) that means ‘we have one life to live’ pardon my French lol. As I sit here sipping gazpacho and watching ‘the best man’ I was inspired to reach out, because that’s what I am the best man for you!!
“Hope to hear from you soon my Mi- amour or should I say ‘Ni-amour.’ I leave you with this ‘the most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely technical.’ Until the next time the sun rises and moon.”
Cam’ron never got a response – until this week.

Given what transpired between James and Udoka, it didn’t take long for folks to connect the dots.
The sequence of events here speaks for itself: Udoka wronged James, James took note, James’ best friend hosts a bash, Cam’ron gets set up with Udoka’s ex who he had been pursing for an extended period of time.

Brilliant stuff.
Udoka will probably never acknowledge what occurred in this particular situation, but James’ chess move will inevitably go down in NBA lore as an all-time great revenge on a rival.
