LeBron James wasn’t happy with the Los Angeles Lakers’ performance against the Boston Celtics.
In a nationally televised game with the eyes of the world on them, the reigning In-Season Tournament champs got embarrassed by their arch rivals on their own home floor 126-115.
With this most recent loss, L.A. is 4-6 in their last 10 games and James is growing visibly frustrated with how things have been going.
After the game, James got brutally honest about the Lakers’ struggles.

“I think the league’s best teams so far,” James said postgame.
“Minnesota, they’re pretty much healthy. OKC, they’re pretty much healthy besides Giddey. Boston, they’re fully healthy. I don’t think we’re healthy right now. I don’t think we’re where we wanna be to be able to compete against the top teams until we continue on getting better and better.”
Anyone who has followed James throughout his career knows how to read between the lines there. The arguably GOAT tends to monitor how his teams are going in the early season, then start hinting that changes need to be made to the roster if he feels things aren’t going according to plan.
As the season progresses, if the losses pile on, his hints get less and less subtle.
Currently the Lakers are one of four teams in the hunt for Zach LaVine and have been linked to a potential blockbuster trade with the Utah Jazz.

That said, nothing is officially imminent. It has all just been loose connections and off-hand gossip.
At some point the front office is going to need to do something, though.
The Lakers are currently 16-15 and sit ninth in the Western Conference. This is the first time James has insinuated that this squad need to be changed ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline, but it likely won’t be the last.
