The Los Angeles Lakers’ first-round series against the Phoenix Suns has been marred by tons of dirty play from both sides.
As such, what happened on Sunday afternoon during Game 4 shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.
With a minute and a half remaining in the outing the Suns held a 95-88 lead. Phoenix big man Deandre Ayton got a defensive rebound after a missed shot by Dennis Schroder and, quickly afterwards, Lakers star LeBron James gave Ayton a cheap push in the back.

So far in this series we’ve seen Suns guard Chris Paul participate in a dangerously dirty move, Lakers big man Anthony Davis return the favor, and then Suns star Devin Booker toss in a cheap shot of his own.
Clearly these two teams don’t particularly like each other.

Will that culminate in further acts of this nature as the series progresses?
Time will tell.
