Lakers Rival Set To Hire Darvin Ham?

Lakers Rival Set To Hire Darvin Ham?

Darvin Ham’s two-season run with the Los Angeles Lakers was filled with many highs and lows.

On the positive side of things, obviously L.A. made the Western Conference Finals two years ago.

This season, unfortunately, Ham and the Lakers barely limped into the playoffs. Shortly thereafter, L.A.’s front office made the decision to part ways with him after two years and a 90-74 mark.

Since then, many have wondered where Ham would go next. Now we know.

According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, could be hired by the Golden State Warriors.

Specifically, he suggested that the two sides “had some conversation” and that “it is a signal of the Warriors’ desire to add a big-name assistant, and indications are they are in search of either a former head coach or former player to fill the role. If Atkinson leaves, they may add two assistant coaches.”

The Warriors are an interesting squad. Obviously they had a down year in 2024, but there is still a lot of talent on the roster. And if they add Jimmy Butler, the way they are trying to, this group could be very formidable next season.

Will Ham ultimately join the Warriors ahead of next season? Time will tell.
