Lakers News: Rajon Rondo Undergoes Body Transformation

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo has undergone a body transformation over the past three months.

Whereas the 34-year-old went into the March’s COVID-inspired season suspension looking pretty much the way he has since coming into the league, he is coming out of it looking like an absolute monster.

Over the course of his 14-year pro career, Rondo has played for six different organizations: the Boston Celtics, Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Pelicans and Lakers.

At no point up until now has he looked as good as he presently does.

Rondo’s decision to get in shape is great news for the Lakers. With Avery Bradley opting to sit out when the league resumes play at the end of July, LA will lean more on Rondo now than they had at any point prior.

That, coupled with Rondo’s tendency to play better in the postseason, could make the Lakers a real threat when the playoffs roll around.

Prior to the season getting suspended, Rondo was averaging 7.1 points, 3.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per outing. Those numbers should tick up considerably when the season resumes, as well his playing time.

The Lakers are currently the top team in the Western Conference, and are considered one of the three best teams in the league along with the LA Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks.

If Rondo ends up playing as well as he currently looks, he could walk away this season with another championship ring to add to his collection.
