Kevin Durant Gets Brutally Honest About Team France’s Olympic Performance
Coming into the 2024 Paris Olympics, Team France was one of the squads folks thought could legitimately pose a threat to Team USA.
Thus far – the French side has struggled to display the sort of dominance many expected from them. In fact, if not for referees blatantly helping them out, they would have one more loss on their record than they currently do.
There is a reason LeBron James was so unimpressed with them.
That being said, despite some issues, Team France looked quite strong against Canada on Tuesday. After benching Rudy Gobert, the squad seemed far more aligned on the right way to play.
After Team France’s big win over Canada, Team USA star Kevin Durant offered his brutally honest thoughts on the French side.
“They played great basketball today,” Durant said.
“They feed off the crowd. We’re getting some extra energy. They had a tough game against Germany [in the Group Stage]. They know it’s pretty bad against them early on. So we’ll see how that goes.
“But, you know, it’s a different game right now. It’s a different time. So I’m sure they’ll be ready to play.”
Clearly Durant has a healthy respect for Team France. Will he be able to lead Team USA past them and win another gold medal for himself? Time will tell.
