Karl-Anthony Towns’ Blunt Reaction To Timberwolves Trading Him To Knicks

The Minnesota Timberwolves traded Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks on Friday evening.

New York is sending Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo and a first-round pick to Minnesota in return for the four-time All-Star.

Towns, who is due more than $200 million over the next four years, has frequently been linked to the Knicks. Particularly due to his connection to Leon Rose and CAA. That said, nobody expected a deal to happen at this point in the offseason.

Shortly after the deal went public, Towns offered a blunt reaction to the trade:

Fans, similarly, had a lot to say:

Towns was brought to Minnesota to be a franchise cornerstone. Unfortunately, he just didn’t seem to have what it took to be the No. 1 guy.

Anthony Edwards has effortlessly stepped into that role. And that, in turn, made Towns expendable.

What sort of run will Towns be able to make with the Knicks next season? Time will tell.
