Josh Primo received a final word on his ongoing legal predicament this week.
Last year, Primo was released by the San Antonio Spurs following accusations that he behaved inappropriately with a team official. Due to the seriousness of the claims made against him, not to mention his not-so-great excuse after the fact, many thought his pro career could be done.
Fortunately for the former first-round pick, the Los Angeles Clippers decided to take a bet on him in September. As it turns out – it may have paid off.
This week prosecutors made a final decision Primo allegedly exposing himself to ex-Spurs consulting psychologist Dr. Hillary Cauthen.
“More than one prosecutor reviewed the evidence on each charge in this case,” Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales said.
“Each determined that there was simply not enough evidence to prove the required elements of the charge and meet a prosecutor’s statutory obligation.”
It is worth remembering that an NBA investigation into Dr. Cauthen’s claims that Primo exposed himself to her multiple times revealed that he “engaged in inappropriate and offensive behavior by exposing himself to women.”
Primo was subsequently handed a four-game suspension for his troubles.
How do fans reconcile the findings of that investigation – and the punishment he received – with what authorities are currently saying? It’s hard to say.
That being said, in light of some of the other issues facing the NBA right now, it’s easy to see why Primo’s scandal will be forgotten.
After all, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey is literally being accused of messing with a minor. And he has been linked to a second high-schooler.

Plus, his family seems hell-bent on attacking the girl involved in all this.
In comparison to all that, the Primo situation obviously doesn’t look like as big of a deal.
With this matter behind him, will Primo be able to focus on basketball and actually become a contributing member of the Clippers? Time will tell.
