The Atlanta Hawks are now choosing between just two offers for Dejounte Murray ahead of the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline.
Over the past few weeks, multiple teams have kicked the tires on a potential deal for the Hawks’ versatile, 27-year-old swingman.
That said – it appears a much smaller grouping of front offices was willing to actually put forth an offer.
According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, Atlanta currently only has two active offers for Murray’s services.
“The only teams I’ve really heard actual offers about have been from the [Los Angeles] Lakers and Utah [Jazz],” Fischer said.
L.A.’s most recent offer for Murray’s services is a matter of public record. As is the lone obstacle that appears to be blocking a deal from getting done.
Fischer also confirmed that a problem exists between the Lakers and Hawks that could scuttle the whole deal.
“And the Lakers just don’t have a clear obvious package that’s going to give the Hawks the picks they want, the player they want—a player who doesn’t have what’s considered to be like bad long-term salary,” Fischer continued.
“And the Lakers get two more extra first-round picks to play with once the calendar flips over to next season come draft time.”
What precisely the Jazz are offering for Murray is unknown at the moment.
That being said, as noted by Fischer, with the way things are trending, Murray could remain in Atlanta past the deadline.
“I’m starting to think it’s closer to 50/50 than we thought all along,” he said.
“The Hawks have always said to me whenever I’ve checked on it, ‘You know we don’t have to trade him.’ Which is what they did with John Collins for three years.

“So if we’re taking them at face value and their past history, and they don’t get their price point for him, I do think it’s possible he sticks around [in Atlanta].”
One way or another, a lot of questions will be answered this week.
Will Murray still be a member of the Hawks once the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline comes and goes? Time will tell.
