Newly acquired Charlotte Hornets star Gordon Hayward has a new signature shoe out, and it’s surprisingly nice.
As noted by ESPN kicks guru Nick DePalma, Hayward’s new “Anta GH2 signature shoe is inspired by tigers and his ‘readiness to be more aggressive this season.’”

“I’ve always liked the way tigers move. They don’t hunt in packs, like lions. Tigers hunt alone – and I feel like I maneuver the same way.”

Gordon Hayward’s GH2s also feature some motivation:
“Go Hard”
“Every Play / Every Time”“My mental confidence is a big part of what I’ve been working on. Individually getting back to the player I was, the player they want me to be & improving off of last year.”

Personal touches on Gordon Hayward’s new Anta GH2:
His parents’ names in tiger stripes on the heel & his home state of Indiana on the bottom.“We have the best basketball in the country. There’s a lot of us [from Indiana] in the NBA. I’ll wear that with pride.”

Fans immediately expressed surprise at how sleek they looked, as Hayward doesn’t quite seem like the type of player who would have hot signature shoes.
Those look cool. Can’t wait to see a @hornets color version

Hayward is entering his first year with the Hornets after something of an eventful offseason. He essentially forced the Boston Celtics to do a sign-and-trade with Charlotte, and in the process got a new deal that will pay him roughly $120 million over four years.
Now he and LaMelo Ball will team up in an attempt to make some noise in the Eastern Conference.
Yikes. https://t.co/FPN0pOZYH6

Between his new shoes and his new team, Hayward is clearly looking to make a statement in 2021.
Will he be successful? Time will tell.
