D’Angelo Russell Calls Out Ex-Lakers Coach Darvin Ham
D’Angelo Russell may or may not get traded in the next few weeks, but currently he is still a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.
In fact, Russell is one of five players whose role in the starting lineup seems etched in stone – even if one of those guys is at risk of getting benched.
This week, during Media Day, Russell spoke to the press. During the conversation, he took some shots at former Lakers head coach Darvin Ham.
“I think, last year, we didn’t really have the structure defensively that we needed as a team,” Russell said.
“And that kind of hurt me a little bit, trying to help my team. Like I said, JJ is trying to push structure everywhere and implement it everywhere…”
That said, Russell also took ownership for some of his own flaws from last season.

Time will tell if Russell ultimately gets traded or not. But if he doesn’t, it will be fascinating to see what sort of campaign he can string together in 2024.
