Damian Lillard was acquired by the Milwaukee Bucks this past offseason in what was undoubtedly the biggest move of the summer.
It was something of an open secret that Lillard wanted to go to the Miami Heat and play alongside Bam Adebayo, but ultimately the most important thing for him was playing with a contender.
While Milwaukee isn’t Miami, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Co. are perennially in the hunt for a championship and even won a title recently.
Unfortunately, the Bucks’ season hasn’t gone as planned thus far. Lillard has been engaged in an extremely messy divorce that is wreaking havoc on his psyche. Moreover, despite just being hired, new head coach Doc Rivers is already at war with his own players.
Recently, Lillard was asked for his ‘dream’ starting 5. As per usual, he answered the question openly and honestly.

Curry, James, Durant and Adebayo are all excellent choices. Nobody can fault Lillard for making them. That said, noticeably missing from the list? Literally any Bucks players.
Not even Antetokounmpo made the cut.
Fans at home couldn’t help but call this out:
Bam over Giannis, Embiid, Jokic? Haha. This dude is still begging to go to Miami.

It will be interesting to see if the Bucks can all get on the same page in the second half of the season.
Thus far, they clearly haven’t done it. Not the players. Not the coaches.

Moreover, Lillard and Antetokounmpo don’t seem to be on the same page either, as evidenced by how Lillard feels about Thanasis Antetokounmpo.
Obviously there is still plenty of time for Lillard and the Bucks to right the ship, but at the moment, there is a lot of work that needs to be done.
