Chris Paul is one of the NBA’s most respected veteran voices around.
Although his future in the league is currently in a state of flux, that hasn’t hampered his standing among his fellow players.
As such, it was to be expected that he would have an opinion of some sort on Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant’s nonstop off-the-court problems.
During a recent appearance on “The Shop” alongside Mav Carter, Ty Lue, Killer Mike and LaKeith Stanfield, Paul offered his two cents on the Morant situation.
“It’s so crazy, because I’m a big Ja fan,” Paul said.
“Ja came to my basketball camp when he was in college. He came in the camp, nobody really knew who he was like that. And after camp, everybody knew who he was. That’s when he blew up, and all the NBA scouts.”
Paul then went on to point out how quickly circumstances can change in the league.
“What I’ll say about Ja, just me being in the league and my position as president of the union for so long, is that everything that you guys said is so real,” he continued. “But it happens so fast.”
Morant drama aside, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Paul.
Following his inclusion in the trade that sent Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns, Paul was linked to three possible new teams.

With the 2023 NBA Draft approaching Thursday, it seems likely that he will be moved sooner rather than later to a new locale.
The Wizards, after all, have no need for a 38-year-old point guard.
Where will Paul ultimately be playing come the beginning of next season? Time will tell.
