The Chicago Bulls Hired Bryson Graham as Their New Front Office Leader

The Chicago Bulls have a new boss.

The team has hired Bryson Graham to replace Arturas Karnisovas as their top basketball decision-maker, according to reports out of Chicago. Graham, who was most recently an executive with the Pelicans, will officially take over as the Bulls front office lead ahead of the 2026 NBA Draft.

This is a real shake-up. Karnisovas had been the face of the Bulls front office for years, and his tenure was widely viewed as a disappointment. The Zach LaVine extension. The DeMar DeRozan trade. The Lonzo Ball saga. None of it amounted to a competitive roster. The Bulls have been stuck in the middle of the NBA for half a decade.

The decision to move on from Karnisovas was reportedly made earlier this offseason. Owner Jerry Reinsdorf made it clear he wanted a fresh voice in the front office, and the team did a quiet but thorough search before landing on Graham.

So who is Bryson Graham? He is a longtime NBA executive who has worked across multiple front offices and has a reputation for being smart, organized, and willing to make hard calls. He was part of the Pelicans front office that drafted Zion Williamson and built the Brandon Ingram era. He is not flashy. He is competent.

That is what the Bulls need. The franchise has been chasing star power and ending up with mid-tier rosters for too long. Graham is the kind of hire who is more interested in process than headlines.

The first big test is the draft. Chicago has the 12th pick and a lot of decisions to make about their existing roster. The team is reportedly considering whether to trade some veteran pieces, including Coby White and Patrick Williams, to clear runway for a younger core. Graham is going to have to make those calls quickly.

The second big test is the head coaching search. The Bulls are still working through their finalists for that job, with multiple veteran candidates in the mix. Graham will likely have meaningful input on the final choice, although the search was already underway when he was hired.

The longer-term test is whether Graham can attract talent to a market that has not been attractive in years. Chicago is a major city with great basketball history, but the Bulls have not been a free agent destination in over a decade. Star players want to win, and the current Bulls roster does not have the foundation in place to compete.

Graham is going to have to build, and he is going to have to be patient about it. The fans are going to demand quick fixes. The owner is going to want progress. The roster is going to need a serious overhaul. This is not a turnaround that happens in one offseason.

The Karnisovas era is over. The Graham era starts now. The first signs of what that looks like will come on draft night.

Bulls fans have heard this kind of optimism before. The difference this time is that the front office is finally being held accountable. That is at least a start.
