Bradley Beal Gets Blunt About Where Wizards Must Improve

Bradley Beal has the opportunity to opt out of his deal with the Washington Wizards this summer and enter free agency. Should he choose to so, it would have massive ramifications for the entire Eastern Conference.

One squad in particular is already circling in the water, preparing to scoop Beal up given the opportunity.

Beal has consistently maintained that his preference would be to remain in D.C. That said, he is tired of losing. And if the run he has been on continues, his hand might be forced.

This week, Beal spoke openly and honestly about the areas where he felt like the Wizards had to improve.

“I think we need bigger guards. We need more guys that can get in the paint for us, more ball-handlers, more guys that can really create and get two feet in the paint, but also who can knock down threes,” Beal said on Wizards Postgame Live (per Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington).

Beal didn’t stop there, though.

“Finding shooters, we definitely need shooting,” he added. “You see we were [6-for-29 from three] tonight. Our shooting has been horrendous all year. I think that’s an area that we definitely need to key in on.”

In addition, Beal identified that the shooters had to be good on both ends of the floor.

“Just some dog wings, some 3-and-D guys who can get after it and accept those challenges come playoff time when we play the Jayson Tatums, all the elite primetime wings,” Beal said.

Given that Beal cares enough to offer advice to the Wizards on how to improve, it seems like he genuinely wants to stay.

Will he be able to? Time will tell.
