Big NBA Trade Between Lakers, Nets Brewing?
The Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets were briefly linked to a trade earlier this summer, but ultimately nothing materialized.
L.A. desperately needs to upgrade its roster ahead of the looming 2024-25 NBA season.
Currently, ESPN’s projection for the team has them at the bottom of the Western Conference.
This week NBA insider Tim MacMahon suggested that maybe the Lakers and Nets could revisit talks down the line.
“If you’re looking for 3-and-D wings, you’re calling Sean Marks,” McMahon said in a recent episode of The Hoop Collective.

“There’s no reason Dorian Finney-Smith should be in Brooklyn past the trade deadline. Now, last year, the Nets were telling teams they wanted two first round picks for him. That’s not going to happen, but he is the epitome of a 3-and-D wing.”
With the Nets now having far more realistic expectations for what Finney-Smith would return in a trade, now seems like a good time for all parties involved to revisit a potential deal.
