The Los Angeles Lakers selected Bronny James with their second-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
To say that the move was controversial would be an understatement.
First there was a debate about the nepotism that led to Los Angeles taking Bronny. Then one of his teammates called him selfish.
This past week, Bronny went viral for the two surprising players he decided to train with ahead of the new season.
For what it’s worth, though – not everyone feels some type of way about Bronny joining the Lakers. In fact, team star Austin Reaves seems pretty excited about it.
“For LeBron to just put himself in a position to play with his son, it’s special,” Reaves said.
“I know he will be motivated to play at his peak level. For me to be around them and to see what it’s going to be like, that’s going to be very cool for me.”
One of the reasons why Reaves is excited to see how LeBron and Bronny proceed with the Lakers is because the former was such a great mentor to him throughout his run in L.A.
“For him to treat me the way he treats me since day one has been very special to me. It’s been nothing but love,” Reaves admitted.
How will the Bronny James Experiment ultimately work out for the Lakers? Time will tell. But Reaves certainly seems very optimistic about it.
