Anthony Edwards Names Best Player On Team USA At 2024 Paris Olympics
Team USA won a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, albeit in controversial fashion that had some calling for them to be stripped.
LeBron James and Stephen Curry obviously stole the show with their heroics on a seemingly nightly basis, but they weren’t the only crucial pieces for the American side.
Head coach Steve Kerr, for example, highlighted out a different player who he felt was the best on Team USA throughout he entire Olympics.
This week Anthony Edwards, who many believe will be the leader of the American side’s future Olympic efforts, noted that one player specifically really impressed him in Paris.
That player?
Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns.
“Steph had great games, he (KD) had great games, LeBron had great games, but Book was guarding the best player, turning down shots… Book goes for 70 [in NBA games], I’m not gonna lie – I was impressed watching him,” said Edwards.
Booker shot nearly 60 percent from beyond the arc throughout the Olympics, all while averaging 11.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per outing.
Additionally, he showed the sort of sacrifice and versatility that many expected from Jayson Tatum coming in. Because the Boston Celtics star essentially couldn’t play the role that Booker did – he was benched in controversial fashion.
Edwards is absolutely right about Booker – he was undoubtedly the most impressive player from Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
