Anthony Davis Calls Out Lakers, JJ Redick After Latest Loss

A frustrated Anthony Davis called out his Los Angeles Lakers teammates and head coach J.J. Redick afte the team’s latest embarrassing loss.

They are now 1-3 in their last four outings.

Initially L.A. got off to a hot start this year. This led to speculation of a blockbuster 4-team trade that could turn them into legit contenders.

But since then, the team has struggled.

Following their loss to the Detroit Pistons on Monday, Davis called everybody out.

“There’s two different teams right now,” he said.

“One game, we’re this team when we showcase to be one of the better teams in the league. Then the next, we’re this team, I don’t even know who we are. So, it’s got to be better. It’s only the start of the game, obviously.”

Davis didn’t stop there, though.

“But we just got to be better as players to come out, execute a game plan, and do what we’re supposed to do on both ends of the floor. You know, some halves we get it, some halves we don’t.

“Some quarters we do, some quarters we don’t. So we got to put a full 48 together, but we can’t continue to do this, if expect to do anything this season.”

Davis is right in theory, of course. The Lakers are extremely inconsistent.

But what he is describing is generally the difference between good teams and bad teams.

Good teams can play well consistently. Game in, and game out.

L.A. cannot.

The reason why is simple: they are not a good team.

The Lakers may have gotten off to a hot start at one point, but now they are merely regressing back to what they truly are.
