Angel Reese Reveals The Problem With Ex-LSU Star Hailey Van Lith
Angel Reese is one of the biggest stars in the WNBA. When she speaks, people listen.
Over the past few months Reese has been something of a lightning rod for attention. She has blown up for everything from her decision to show up to a game dressed as a prostitute to her public flirtation with arguably the biggest rapper in the game. Recently, she decided to capitalize on that by launching her own podcast.
This past week Reese appeared on that podcast and offered her thoughts on where her ex-LSU teammate, Hailey Van Lith, went wrong last year.
Van Lith was a massive star at Louisville before transferring to LSU. With the Tigers she struggled repeatedly and made far more headlines off the court than she did for her on-the-court accomplishments.
While Van Lith had little trouble trending for her twerking videos and her OnlyFans drama, she was so bad at LSU that she ended up having to transfer to TCU over the summer.

“We weren’t super close, but I was probably one of the closer people with her on the team,” Reese said.
“I think she was really distant from everybody else. So I kind of felt bad, so was like let me get close to her and like see who she is, because she was the only white girl.
“I didn’t want her to feel uncomfortable. I wanted her to feel as comfortable as she could being able to come into a situation where she had to transfer. She was super successful at Louisville. For a little while, she struggled with confidence in the beginning.”
If it feels like race is a common problem when it comes to Reese’s various teammates and opponents, it’s because it is.
Reese also confirmed that Van Lith was the wrong fit for that particular LSU squad.
“Yeah, I just think it wasn’t a good fit for that specific team,” she added.
Van Lith has another year of college basketball left in 2024 – and the she will be off to face Reese in the WNBA.
