The Milwaukee Bucks shipped Robin Lopez off to the Sacramento Kings last week ahead of the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline.
Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, he will ultimately be bought out and permitted to join another team over the next few weeks.
On Tuesday, three squads emerged as potential suitors for his services.
The first is the Golden State Warriors.
“The former Stanford big man is 7-foot-1, 280 pounds and is willing to be physical,” NBC Sports Warriors insider Monte Poole wrote. “He’s also the kind of happy-go-lucky character, which endeared him to his many former teammates. He would be an easy fit in the Golden State locker room.”
That said, there are also reasons why Lopez wouldn’t be an ideal fit in The Bay.
“But RoLo, expected to be waived by the Kings, hasn’t been a consistent rotation player since 2022,” Poole continued. “He played only 65 minutes for the Bucks this season before being traded last week. He is, if nothing else, a 35-year-old big body who can bang with his fellow Percherons.”
In addition, the Warriors are currently being linked to three other buyout candidates who might be better suited to joining the team.

The Los Angeles Lakers are another squad to keep an eye on as it pertains to Lopez. They wanted to add another center ahead of the Trade Deadline and failed to do so. While they are currently being linked to one former All-Star, Lopez could make a lot of sense as well.
Finally, don’t sleep on the New York Knicks. Although they had a magnificent last month or so in terms of adding quality talent, the team could still use another backup big.
Lopez could be a perfect fit on the court in limited minutes on the Knicks’ roster, and a really invaluable presence in the locker room for a squad that is trying to grow into a legit Eastern Conference contender.
