John Wall is coming off a decent first-year with the Houston Rockets.
The former Washington Wizards star averaged 20.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 6.9 assists, and 1.1 steals per game – which isn’t bad for a guy who has been ravaged by injuries over the past couple of years.
That said, he clearly has no long-term place on a Rockets team looking to rebuild around Christian Wood.
As such, naturally, folks have started to look ahead to what the 30-year-old’s next stop may be.
According NBA insider Evan Massey, the New York Knicks have serious interest in adding Wall this offseason.
“The Knicks have some level of interest in John Wall,” he wrote.
“Houston would love to move him and get something of value for him. He isn’t a long-term fit for the Rockets, and if New York really wants him, they have the pieces to get a deal done. Wall isn’t their top priority this offseason, but he could be an excellent fallback option and the interest is there.”

Wall has had a rough few years. Between his very public beef with the Wizards, off-the-court controversies and massive contract, he has been the subject of far more negative press attention than positive.
Given that, it’d be nice to see him land in the Big Apple and experience a Derrick Rose-like resurgence, particularly if Rose ends up going elsewhere.
Will it happen? Time will tell.
Should it? Absolutely.
