Bronny James’ transition from high school to college was one of the most highly-scrutinized recruiting processes in recent memory.
Aside from maybe Arch Manning, who somehow caused a national incident when he jokingly gave some blonde a commitment to her school in bed, it is hard to think of a youngster whose picking of his college was such a national storyline.
Eventually Bronny selected USC, though – and everything calmed down for a bit. But now, even though his collegiate journey is just beginning, all eyes are already beginning to turn to where Bronny will play as a pro.
This week Brian Windhorst of ESPN revealed that one team has been sending scouts to Bronny’s games.
That team? The Miami Heat.
Brian Windhorst says that if you’re a good player in LA, the Heat will find you:
“This guy that I know … sent me a video of Bronny [James] warming up, and right behind him in the first row taking notes is Adam Simon. The Heat are out there doing it.”https://t.co/n4Jb4KCHQV pic.twitter.com/4hbMXn7w5K

“[Pat] Riley spends a long time in LA,” Windhorst said.
“Chad Kammerer, their long-time scout lives in LA. If you’re a good player in LA, the Heat have seen you a lot of time. You know it’s funny, it was Bronny James’ second game.
“This guy that I know who works in Alabama, sent me a video of Bronny warming up, and right behind him in the first row taking notes is Adam Simon. The Heat are out there doing it.”

A few weeks ago, an NBA scout offered a prediction on where in the 2024 Draft Bronny will ultimately go. Clearly the hype is real.
So far this season Bronny is averaging 7.5 points in 16.8 minutes of action per game. That said, in his last two outings he has scored 15 points and 10 points, respectively.
Will Bronny end up playing for the Heat like his dad when it’s all said and done? Time will tell.
