Sadio Mane went viral for a hilarious reason this week.

With the Reds currently sitting atop the Premiere League, a full 14 points ahead of second-place Manchester City, Mane refused to jinx his club’s bid for their first English league title in three decades.

While appearing at the Confederation of African Football after capturing the African Player of the Year award, an interviewer prematurely congratulated the star.

“Congratulations, you’re going to win the league,” the interviewer said.

Mane refused to bite. Instead he knocked on the wooden arm of the chair he was sitting in and refused to celebrate early.

Fans absolutely loved the gesture, noting that you cannot count your chickens before they hatch.

Liverpool is currently fresh off a 1-0 victory over Tottenham.

Next up will be a battle against Manchester United on Sunday, the only Premiere League side that they have yet to beat this season.
