Randy Arozarena Gives Heckling Tigers Fan a Souvenir With a Brilliant Message

Randy Arozarena just gave a Tigers heckler one of the best souvenirs in baseball history.

During Sunday’s game between the Mariners and Tigers at Comerica Park, a self-described “professional heckler” named Trevor Gilmore was riding Arozarena from the stands. In the second inning, the Mariners outfielder pointed at Gilmore, walked over, and tossed him a baseball with a message written on it.

The message: “I don’t speak English! Yell what you want! But I understand you! I don’t care! I love you.”

That is masterclass-level trolling.

It is funny. It is not nasty. It owns the heckler without making Arozarena look small. And the fan, who paid for tickets to scream at a baseball player, walks away with a one-of-a-kind keepsake he will probably keep forever. Everybody wins, except for the dignity of professional hecklers as a class.

Arozarena has always understood the assignment when it comes to entertainment value. The flashy poses, the bat flips, the showmanship in big moments. He plays the game with a wink, and Sunday was a perfect example of why fans either love him or pretend not to.

The Mariners outfielder, now in his second year in Seattle after coming over from Tampa Bay, has needed moments like this. His 2026 offensive numbers have been uneven and the Mariners have been streaky. Anything that puts him back in the highlight reel is a small win for a player who feeds on emotion.

This is also a reminder that the best way to handle hecklers usually is not to scream back. It is to do exactly what Arozarena did. Acknowledge them, embarrass them gently, and turn the moment into content that goes around the internet for a week.

Gilmore got humbled and rewarded at the same time. Arozarena got the last word and a viral clip. Mariners fans got something fun in the middle of a long season.

Other players should be taking notes. The next time someone in the front row gets loud, write something hilarious on a ball and toss it over. You will own the moment every single time.
