Are the Dodgers, Indians and Reds involved in a trade for Francisco Lindor?

Yes, but to the extent to which each organization is involved is up for debate.

Los Angeles came into the offseason with a lot of talk about how big names would inevitably be signed. Yet for all the chatter, it is the New York Yankees and LA Angels that pulled off the biggest moves of the offseason thus far.

As such, the Dodgers turned their attention to securing a star via trade.

The biggest rumor associated with them to date has been a proposed deal with Cleveland for Lindor’s services.

Unfortunately, thus far, nothing has come to fruition. In the last few days it has been reported that Cincinnati has emerged as a serious contender for Lindor.

To date, though, the Reds too have not been able to actually secure a deal.

So where does that leave all involved?

Well, in a recent fascinating column, Sports Illustrated writer T.J. Zuppe suggested a three-team deal that just might work.

In this proposed transaction, each time would get some intriguing pieces.

The Indians would come away with Nick Senzel, Alex Verdugo and Dustin May. LA would emerge with Lindor and Amir Garrett. The Reds would receive Corey Seager, Austin Barnes and Delino DeShields.

While nothing in this proposed trade would necessarily soften the blow of the Indians losing Lindor, that would be the case in any deal. He is just too good.

But if Cleveland is already willing to move him, and based on everything we have heard thus far that is in fact the case, then this deal makes as much sense as any would.

Stay tuned. If a trade for Lindor does happen, it will likely happen soon.
