Yankees Reveal Aaron Judge’s Injury Worse Than Expected
The New York Yankees revealed that Aaron Judge’s injury was worse than originally expected this week.
Opening Day is set for Thursday, March 28. Many were excited to see Judge return to the fold, but apparently that is not in the cards.
On Friday, the team announced that he would not be available for the start of the 2020 season.
In February, New York brass revealed that Judge was dealing with a shoulder injury. Most assumed that would not be a serious impediment to him playing at the start of this season.
However, a new issue has arisen. According to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, Judge has a stress fracture in his rib and will need two weeks of recovery time – at least.
To make matters worse, surgery is not off the table for the injury.
Clearly this is a worst case scenario for a Yankees team really hoping to get off to a hot start this season and build up some momentum.

Manager Aaron Boone suggested that Judge has been dealing with this rib injury ever since an outfield dive he made last September.
Judge now joins Giancarlo Stanton, Luis Severino and James Paxton as guys that will be out come Opening Day.
Will the Yankees still be able to compete for a championship with so many of their guys out hurt? It all depends on how much the injuries effect them and how long they linger.
At the moment, it is no a point of concern. If the ailments persist, though – things may get ugly.
