The Red Sox claim the Yankees taught them how to cheat.
Although Boston is still under league investigation for signal-stealing, many are looking back at a prior cheating accusation for what the future may hold.
Back in 2017, the Red Sox stood accused of misappropriating Apple Watches in an outing versus the New York Yankees.
A member of the organization also allegedly looked at his watch and relayed messages to various members of the team.
Ultimately, Boston was fined an undisclosed amount for the transgressions.
More Gammons: “The Sox don’t think they are going to get really hit [from the investigation], but you just don’t know.”
“Chris Young told me, ‘Kind of my idea, I started the whole Apple Watch thing. I got it from when I was with the Yankees.'”

After the fact, MLB insider Peter Gammons revealed that the idea to utilize watches in a cheating scheme originated from former outfielder Chris Young.
Where did Young learn the trick?
The Yankees.
“Chris Young told me, ‘Kind of my idea, I started the whole Apple Watch thing. I got it from when I was with the Yankees,'” Gammons said.
Despite this allegation, it was never actually confirmed that New York was employing the same sort of cheating tactics.
