Dodgers Accused Of Cheating Against Brewers By ESPN
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 4-2 on Wednesday night. They now hold a 1-0 series lead. It was a largely uneventful affair, except for one odd instance.
At the top of the fourth with Walker Buehler pitching, ESPN announcer Eduardo Perez accused LA of foul play.
Specifically, he took issue with the Dodgers right hander putting something on his hand for his blister.

Needless to say, Twitter had some interesting responses to Perez’s take.

I feel like Buehler’s blister should have its own twitter account with as much as they are talking about it.

Every time there’s an Astros game he spends his life making excuses for them. Him and marley Rivera or whatever her name is are close with a lot of the latin Astros players and don’t like the dodgers because of that. Constant ass kissing for the Astros

Buehler has been trying to work around his blister for a while now. He ended up missing a couple of weeks of action in September as a result, and has only pitched four innings in each of his last two starts.
Prior to Wednesday, in his last start, Buehler allowed one hit over four scoreless innings.
Yesterday, the 26-year-old had an elevated pitch count of 73 over his four innings. He ultimately left the game after giving up a double to Daniel Vogelbach and a two-run homer to Orlando Arcia.
Prior to Garcia’s home run, LA was up 3-0.
While the Dodgers were clearly able to compensate on Wednesday night, it will be interesting to see what the team can expect out of Buehler going forward. He is obviously essential to a potential World Series run, but he also very blatantly is not at a hundred percent right now.
Over the course of 365 innings pitched Buehler owns a 3.15 ERA and 1.03 WHIP. In the span of six postseason outings, he has recorded a 2.72 ERA and 0.85 WHIP.

Buehler is an integral part of this lineup, so his status going forward, as well as the status of his blister, will be something to keep an eye on.
Game 2 between the Dodgers and Brewers is scheduled for 7:08 pm PT and will air on ESPN.
