One of the big heroes for the Los Angeles Dodgers in their clutch Game 7 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Sunday night was 25-year-old Cody Bellinger.
Despite recording just one home run up to that point in the series, Bellinger came up big when it mattered most – delivering a bomb of a shot in the seventh inning that put the Dodgers up for good and secured them a World Series berth.

Unfortunately, in the process of celebrating that massive moment, Bellinger ended up dislocating his shoulder.

After the outing, Bellinger explained what transpired during that particular sequence of events and how it will impact him going forward.
“I’m good,” he said.
“I hit Kike’s shoulder a little too hard, and my shoulder popped out. I had to go back into the trainer’s room and they popped it back in so I could go play defense.
“It kind of hurt. I’m gonna use my L arm. I’ve never dislocated that one.”

At the moment, it doesn’t appear as though Bellinger’s injury will keep him out of the World Series – but the sight of him getting hurt certainly put a little fear in the heart of Dodgers fans everywhere.
Prior to Bellinger’s big play on Sunday night, Kike Hernandez hit a pinch-hit home run off of A.J. Minter in the sixth inning to tie the game up for his squad.
It was an extremely impressive effort by the entire ballclub following a slow start to the outing, but it spoke to how the Dodgers had looked versus the Braves throughout. Start slow, finish hot. Fall down 3-1 in the series, come back to win it 4-3.

In capturing their Game 7 victory, Los Angeles became the first team to reach the World Series on three separate occasions in a four-year span since the New York Yankees, who did it in the early 2000s.
They are the first National League squad to accomplish the feat since, coincidentally enough, the Dodgers did it back between 1963 and 1966.

The Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays will square off at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, for Game 1 of the 2020 World Series this coming Tuesday.
Currently, LA is listed as a -200 favorite heading into Game 1, but obviously that is subject to change between now and the first pitch.
