Matt Riddle Smackdown Debut Cancelled Over Sexual Assault Accusations?

Is Matt Riddle’s Smackdown debut getting cancelled over the sexual assault allegations made against him?

For weeks, the WWE has been hyping up Riddle’s debut on Friday Night Smackdown as an event fans absolutely have to tune in to.

While it is unclear who precisely Riddle was supposed to be wrestling, it was said to be someone notable.

Regardless of who that first opponent is, though, the long-term plan for Riddle appears to be to pit him in a program with Baron Corbin.

Unfortunately, on Thursday, sexual assault allegations against Riddle were made public by Candy Cartwright, an independent wrestler.

“Back in May of 2018 I was riding with Matt Riddle and a few other wrestlers. During the van ride, when the 3 other wrestlers had fallen asleep, Matt asked me to ‘hop on his dick.’ When I refused (although we had previously been together I was incredibly uncomfortable in that setting )

“When I said no, he grabbed me by my throat, choked me and said “what if I just made you?” I ended up giving him oral sex (praying someone wouldn’t wake up) to get out of having intercourse with him. It was incredibly humiliating,” she wrote.

Riddle has yet to publicly respond to these accusations.
