Louisville Football Player Found Dead

A Louisville football player has been found dead in Florida.

The body of Chris Campa, a former linebacker at Louisville, was reportedly found at a home in Orlando, Florida.

According to WFTV 9, a woman being treated for stab wounds led police to the home where Campa was eventually found.

Campa, 32, was a JUCO transfer and started for Louisville in 2008 and 2009. In his second year he finished second on the team in tackles.

“Officials initially responded to Orlando Regional Medical Center around 1:45 a.m. in response to a 27-year-old woman being treated for stab wounds, according to deputies,” WFTV 90 reports.

“Deputies said they then went to a home connected to the woman in the 1000 block of West Kaley Street, where they found Christopher Campa, 32, dead.”

This remains an open investigation as police attempt to figure out what precisely happened to Campa.
