Los Angeles Lakers star Christian Wood found himself embroiled in model Yasmine Lopez’s latest scandal this week.
Lopez, one of the more popular influencers on social media, made headlines on Wednesday when odd messages surfaced suggesting she was looking to entrap Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant.
Lopez would go on to suggest that the messages were fake, but the whole situation still understandably weirded fans out.
Complicating matters further is that Lopez is now being linked to a possible assault over Wood, who was signed by the Lakers this offseason.
According to WAGS Unfiltered, Lopez stands accused of following another Instagram model home and biting her over Wood.
Just a messy situation all the way around.
Wood, for his part, is clearly trying to steer clear of the drama. He just wants to keep his head above water and prove himself to be a legit NBA talent – especially given how cold the free agency market was for him this summer.
Fortunately, things seem to be trending upwards basketball-wise for Wood.
On Wednesday night, in a preseason outing against the Sacramento Kings, he dropped 13 points and grabbed four rebounds in just 20 minutes of action.
As evidenced by his recent comments about his old team, the Dallas Mavericks, Wood is motivated to prove his doubters and haters wrong.
At the moment he seems to be getting off to a good start.

Wood is widely recognized as one of the league’s more talented offensive big men. His deficiencies come in the shape of his defensive tenacity, motor and occasional selfishness. All three of those problems can be counteracted if he keeps his mind right.
Unfortunately, all the off-the-court drama surrounding Lopez will make that a little more difficult.
Will Lopez’s shenanigans negatively impact Wood’s time with the Lakers? An answer one way or the other will emerge soon enough.
