Kyler Murray, Cardinals Coaches React To DeAndre Hopkins Trade

Kyler Murray and Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury reacted to their team’s trade for DeAndre Hopkins this week.

Both are understandably excited.

Hopkins comes to Arizona with quite the resume. He is a four-time Pro Bowler and three-time All Pro, and all the Cardinals had to give up for him was running back David Johnson, a second round pick and a 2021 fourth-rounder. That is an absolute steal.

For obvious reasons, both Kingsbury and Murray were thrilled by Hopkins’ addition.

“He’s through the roof,” Kingsbury said of Murray’s reaction. “He’s excited, and he can’t wait to get back and get things rolling.”

Murray was not alone in his excitement. Veteran wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald was also thrilled.

“I’ve loved DeAndre since he was at Clemson and followed him throughout his whole career,” Fitzgerald said.

“Obviously I’ve seen his career unfold in Houston, and to be able to have him as a teammate, it’s going to be something special.”

Over the course of the last seven years, Hopkins has amassed 8,602 yards and 54 touchdowns.

What will he and Murray be able to accomplish together next year? Time will tell.
