Knicks Star Derrick Rose’s 1 Big Change For 2022-23 NBA Season

Derrick Rose struggled with health issues last season, but he is looking to change that in 2022-23.

The New York Knicks guard was a major driving force in the team’s run to the playoffs two years ago, and him being out last season was a huge blow.

Fortunately Rose has spent the last few months getting back into playing shape. He looks as ready as ever to do work.

And he even made one big change this offseason.

“I haven’t felt this healthy in a long time,” Rose revealed.

“[I’m] back to my rookie [year] weight. [I’m] 195 [pounds] right now. It’s been, what, 13 years since I’ve been that weight. So it’s a blessing.”

This could be huge for Rose. Last season he suffered an ankle injury – the latest in a long series of lower body ailments that have hindered him since his MVP run with the Chicago Bulls.

Less weight, in theory, should help to some degree.

The Knicks badly need Rose to be right in 2022-23. His presence was sorely lacking last season, and it undoubtedly contributed to some of the team’s locker room issues.

Julius Randle’s status is very much up in the air right now. But if he doesn’t end up getting traded, it will be interesting to see what he, Jalen Brunson and a hopefully-healthy Rose can do next year.

This squad isn’t far removed from finishing fourth in the Eastern Conference.

Yes, there are some issues there – but the Knicks also have legit talent.

Can they return to the form they were in two seasons ago?

Time will tell.
