Keenan Allen Calls out Tyreek Hill, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen called out Tyreek Hill, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin in a bizarre tweet sent out on Sunday night.
This past weekend, the NFL Network released the first batch of its rankings for the top 100 players in the league.
Allen did not take kindly to being ranked 77th. The 28-year-old felt like his stats and accomplishments since coming into the league in 2013 should put him above at least three of his fellow wide receivers.
Ok I’m tired of biten my tongue…@cheetah @MikeEvans13_ @chrisgoodwin… ( and the list goes on) ARE NOT a better reciever than me! Faster than me…every day of the week but separation..CHILD PLEASE! https://t.co/rBQwJZWkE3

To Allen’s credit, his resume is impressive. This past year he recorded six scores and nearly 1,200 yards on 104 receptions. And this was in a year when Philip Rivers was having one of his worst campaigns in recent memory.
But is he better than Hill, Evans and Godwin?
Hill capped off his Super Bowl-winning campaign in 2019 with 860 receiving yards – and this is with Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes throwing him the ball.
Evans and Godwin recorded 1,157 and 1,333 yards, respectively, in a season when Jameis Winston was consistently throwing either touchdowns or interceptions on seemingly every play.
It is not hard to see why Allen feels slighted.
Shortly after he tweeted out his message, Godwin responded.
oh shit lol Don’t sweat it G, Chris Goodwin ain’t better than me either 😂😂 https://t.co/3kh18Puk54

It will ultimately be interesting to see how Godwin and Evans do this season with Tom Brady throwing them the ball, rather than Winston. Similarly, it will be fun to watch what Allen’s numbers become with Tyrod Taylor serving as the Chargers’ No. 1 quarterback instead of Rivers.
