Joel Embiid’s Expletive-Laden Description Of Karl-Anthony Towns

Joel Embiid’s Expletive-Laden Description Of Karl-Anthony Towns

Minnesota Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns ruffled a lot of feathers this week with his very accurate assessment of Los Angeles Lakers star Russell Westbrook.

Essentially, during a video game streaming session, Towns was asked for his take on Westbrook as a player.

Towns answered the question fairly and honestly.

And then all hell broke loose.

Golden State Warriors loudmouth Draymond Green got pissy over it, because he always has something to say about everything.

But he wasn’t alone.

Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid also offered an expletive-laden response.

Yikes, talk about being all sorts of extra.

Obviously Embiid and Towns have a lot of history and tons of beef dating back to 2017, but this was excessive.

Again, Towns didn’t even say anything particularly bad about Westbrook.

“He definitely gets stats,” the Timberwolves big man said. “He chases stats. I think he’s a helluva player though. You know how hard it is to get a triple-double… and he plays hella hard.

“I just think that sometimes he plays too quick. He tries to do too much. Trust your teammates, move around a little bit. He’s a helluva player bro.”

Does that really warrant so much backlash?

Everyone thinks that about Westbrook. There is a reason why the Lakers have talked to two teams about trading him in recent weeks.

For a not-particularly-loud guy, Towns also isn’t afraid to get brutally honest about real topics.

Some people like Embiid clearly can’t handle that.

But frankly, that says a lot more about the 76ers star than it does about Towns.
