Jamal Adams Bashes Adam Gase To Manish Mehta

Jamal Adams bashed Adam Gase to Manish Mehta during a recent interview.

The New York Jets safety did not mince words about his head coach, suggesting that he is not the “right leader” for the particular group of guys he has been charged to lead.

Adams’ dissatisfaction with Gase has been simmering for a while now.

Last season, New York was in talks to trade Adams to the Dallas Cowboys – but that deal ultimately fell apart. Since then, the 24-year-old has been extremely outspoken regarding his team’s refusal to sign him to a larger deal.

As a result of both parties being unable to agree to a long-term deal, Adams demanded a trade from New York. However, to date, the team has seemingly been unwilling to work with him on it.

Speaking to Mehta, Adams expressed what precisely his issue with Gase is and why he does not feel like it could be resolved at any point in the foreseeable future.

“I don’t feel like he’s the right leader for this organization to reach the Promised Land,” Adams said.

“As a leader, what really bothers me is that he doesn’t have a relationship with everybody in the building.”

As things currently stand, Adams still has at least two years left on his current deal. He has very little leverage to work with in forcing the Jets’ hand.

Going public like this, to vocally badmouth the head coach, is pretty much the only tool Adams has at his disposal to try and force his way out of New York.
