Are the Indians trading Mike Clevinger to the Angels?

Los Angeles went into the offseason with plans to land a top starter in free agency. Obviously that has not happened up to this point.

As a result, it appears the Angels are turning their sights on the trad market.

According to MLB.com baseball insider Jon Morosi, Los Angeles has been in talks with Cleveland regarding what it would take to pry away Clevinger.

Although the two teams are not yet close to a deal, the Indians made it clear that they are willing to make a move – for the right price.

Morosi reports that any trade for Clevinger would have to include top prospect Jo Adell and another piece.

It remains to be seen if the asking price of Adell, a 20-year-old stud that the Angels have high hopes for, is too high.

Although the team tightened up the rotation by adding Julio Teheran and Dylan Bundy, a true ace at the top of the staff is obviously something that eludes the Angels.

With that in mind, their interest in Clevinger is understandable.

Last year he went 13-4 with a 2.71 ERA and 169 strikeouts in just 21 starts.

He would be a great fit with the Angels, so long as a fair deal can be worked out by both sides.
